Has my cat got worms?

Three days ago I noticed my one year old cat was bleeding from his backside. It's not bleeding now but it looks like maybe he has piles as a couple of pink bits are sticking out. His appetite hasn't changed and he doesn't wriggle along the carpet or seem at all bothered by it. Do you think he has worms? Thank you for all your answers as I am worried about him.
